Joe and Gillian Charleson, the founders of East Africa Safari Ventures, both have extensive experience in the safari and hostpitality industry in various parts of Africa.

Joe grew up in Kenya with family safaris as part of his childhood. He has a biology degree and previously worked as a Professional Safari Guide in Botswana before returning to Kenya. Gillian was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa where she started her career working in some of South Africa’s finest hotels and resorts. She made her way to Tanzania in 1995 and soon fell in love with East Africa and its way of life.

" Kenya is our home and our offices are based in Nairobi. We spend much of our time at Leleshwa Camp, our small permanent camp on a secluded conservation area adjacent to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Our Safari Vehicles
East Africa Safari Ventures uses only specially adapted 4WD Toyota Landcruisers for our safaris. They are comfortable, safe and reliable and give access areas off the beaten track giving guests a private, exclusive safari experience. All vehicles have roof hatches for excellent game viewing, a selection of guide books, 240V charging facilities and carry refreshments.
