In association with Ker & Downey, Joe Charleson hosts and leads these traditional safaris in the most remote and picturesque parts of Kenya and Tanzania.

Your private luxury camp consists of well-appointed tents of 24x14ft, each with a private verandah and attentive friendly steward. The insect proof tents have a dressing area and en-suite bathroom with a traditional safari shower. Meals and drinks are served dinner party style in a large dining and comfortable lounge area by our friendly staff. Your private chef prepares a variety of delicious meals and can cater to your dietary requirements. Every night a roaring campfire is lit and you can relax under the expansive African night sky and let the sounds of the bush wash over you.

Ker & Downey holds prime concession areas in the finest game viewing locations in East Africa. These beautiful locations ensure your privacy and leave you with the unique feeling that this part of Africa belongs to you. As each camp is in a different setting, the activities on offer are varied, including day and night game drives in custom made 4WD safari vehicles, guided bush walks, and community activities.

Most nights on your Ker & Downey personalised safari are spent in our private luxury camp which the safari crew has set up ready for your arrival. To allow you to fully appreciate each area, you spend 3-4 nights in camp interspersed with stops at exclusive lodges from our Classic Collection. Because of the vast distances between regions you fly between them on charter flights. Your personalised itinerary is developed for a minimum of 10 days and we can tailor the safari for groups with children of any age.
