When booking a safari you want to feel as comfortable and well prepared as possible. Here are some of the common question asked but if there's anything else you'd like to know, simply ask us and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Is East Africa a safe place?
The world in general has become more aware of the threat of terror attacks recently and East Africa has not been immune to this. Governments may issue travel warnings to their citizens, which cover a wide range of countries and regions, without specifically stating what the risk is.

In East Africa, like everywhere in the world, there are certain areas you should avoid. East Africa Safari Ventures will make sure you steer well clear of any problematic areas. We would never recommend a safari that we feel might be dangerous to our guests. Ultimately, the choice to travel is yours. We can keep you up to date with the latest updates on travel advisories for East Africa, so you can make an informed decision.

Most of your safari will be focused around finding and viewing wild animals, often at very close quarters. The animals are by nature wild and unpredictable. Your guide will be experienced at reading each situation and will always keep you safe, as you get as close to the action as possible.

Will I have to worry about diseases?
East Africa is a malarial area and does contain some other tropical diseases. Before you come to Africa you should ensure that your immunisation jabs are up to date and that you are taking a recommended malarial prophylactic. Consult your doctor for more information.

Is age or fitness an issue?
Your safari can be as energetic or relaxing as you like, although healthy people of all ages can enjoy game viewing throughout the region. If you have an ailment, disability or are concerned about your level of fitness, please let us know in advance so we can tailor your itinerary to avoid strenuous, energetic activities.

What is included within the cost of my safari?
This varies with each itinerary but we try and ensure that there are no hidden extras costs when you get here. Most East Africa Safari Ventures holiday are 'fully inclusive' - i.e. all beverages, meals, accommodation, laundry, park and conservation fees, internal transport and pre-arranged activities have been paid for in advance. What this means is that from the moment you walk off your international flight to the moment you step back on, you are in our hands and can enjoy your holiday without having to worry about any additional finances.

Not included within the cost of our safaris are insurance, gratuities and any additional activities not arranged in advance. If there are any other costs we know about, we will ensure that you have all the information well in advance of making your booking.

What financial security will I have?
East Africa Safari Ventures is a fully registered company based in Nairobi, Kenya and holds all licences necessary to trade. We are also establishing a presence in both Europe and the USA to further guarantee your financial security.

Can children go 'on safari'?
Children have as much right as adults to enjoy Africa and a safari can be one of the most informative, exciting and rewarding holidays that parents can take their children on. Most camps and lodges welcome children, although some can be a little dangerous for those under twelve years old due to the proximity of wild animals. If you have children within your group please let us know in advance.

At East Africa Safari Ventures we also recognise that people use their holidays to 'get away' and relax and we pride ourselves on our ability to match different types of destinations to different people's needs. If you would rather enjoy the peace and solitude Africa has to offer, simply let us know and we will make the necessary arrangements.

What language will be spoken?
Kiswahili is the lingua franca of East Africa, although within the tourism sector English is the first language of most guides and hosts. Many of our guides are fluent in other languages. If you would prefer a guide fluent in your language, let us know and we'll ensure you don't miss anything on your safari because of communication problems.
